Process, Not Trait:
The Dynamics of Gender Differentiation in Infants

Dr. Fausto-Sterling will use her research on mother-infant interactions to formulate a dynamic approach to understanding how undifferentiated infants turn into a highly varied collection of gender-differentiated children.

Dr. Anne Fausto-Sterling is the Nancy Duke Lewis Professor Emerita of Biology and Gender Studies in the Department of Molecular and Cell Biology and Biochemistry at Brown University. She has achieved recognition for works that challenge entrenched scientific beliefs while engaging with the general public.
